This is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart.

The leaves have fallen down by now
The lawn is nearly mown’
The grass we tried so hard to save
The flowers we have sown

The air is crisp and colder now
We still cant find the beat
This is all we wanted when we
Were cursed within the heat

The pumpkin patch is open now
The scent is full of spice
The constant threat of rain above
Is somehow almost nice

The change from summer days to now
Is almost just complete
It takes a few short days but then
The months will blend and meet

The colors have left the trees!
They lay unbidden on the ground!
Halloween is closer too
Just something that we’ve found

As the seasons change and grow
We pull out all our pants
Scatter off the smell of dust
And walk with burdened stance

The chill of winter starts to come
It’s seeping in the air
Like a villain close but far, like
Summer was never here.

No expectations, no disappointments.

I agree about "Air" and "Here" but the poem was really great. Got the major idea of the season!

"But without the dark, we would never see the stars"

I love this. I think its a wonderful poem that totally describes how  everyone feels in the fall. I also love the rhyming pattern. It makes everything flow so well. If I had just a few suggestions, I would say that you use the word "almost" too much in stanza's 3 and 4. Also, in the last stanza the words "air" and "here" do not rhyme. But other then that, this poem is great!!!!
