dance in the dark of the light

As I look unto the night sky,
I witness the moon that has given all to be with the stars;
given its own light that they may shine upon it.
But the sun shadows the moon,
covering it wholly, and completely.
Letting it not shine in the day, but in the night.
It screams like the wolves,
“give me my stars that I might shine with them.
Give me the night that I long for.”
The sun cares not for the cries of the moon,
as it shines brilliantly with its yellow light.
It feels nothing except its own radiance, and warmth.
The moon is not warm, and it is not brilliant with yellow light.
The stars cry for their moon, and long to comfort it.
But it is not hopeless for the moon,
for the sun soon retreats across the western sky,
and the moon and the stars dance together in the darkness of their light.
