\"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.\"

Look at you
Pepperoni pizza face
In chess club you’re always first place
But never win in the beauty race
Blotchy pale skin that won’t hold a tan
More boring than my grandmother’s Raisin Bran
And
Look at me
Pores clogged with makeup,
Brain clouded with ignorance
Golden locks down to my waist, perfectly curled
I rule the world
Look at you
Socially awkward but bright as can be
Never worn anything more than jeans and a tee
You will be more than anything I could possibly foresee
An inseminator, a gemologist
Jobs I don’t even know exist
Look at me
Dumbfounded, jaw slack with envy
That porcelain skin you once knew, burning red, infuriated
Your success makes me cringe
I’m undone, I’m unhinged
But I still
Look at you

This is solely inspired by ignorance. It might come as a surprise, but i am neither of the people in my poem. Merely an observer.
