my midnight has awaken me once again,
and yes, i love it so, but
my eyes are closed,
and the lights are off,
and still,
i toss and turn,

i lay on one side,
then the other,
and yet,
i can not sleep,

my midnight has come again,
awaken me and more,
gave me my beautiful ideas,
and the choice to star gaze,

i draw and sketch,
i sing and talk,
i dance and pace,
but i still can not sleep,

i love my midnight,
it's my secret world,
with starlit sonnets,
and whispered winds,

but at 2 am,
i can sleep again,
with my imagination exhausted,
and my midnight passed.

my midnight has awaken me,
and let me sleep again.
