Some questions have answers, most do not- but I'm going to go ahead and ask them anyway.

A little girl
With a curious stare,
And sunny, flowering,
Golden hair-
That falls across her face
In locks,
And cascades down,
Her pure-white frock.
A freckled nose,
And dancing toes!
Oversized,
Ill fitting clothes.
Across her shoulder,
A travelling sack-
Her heels turn;
Her eyes look back.
Her melancholy lips
Do sing-
Across the skies
Nostalgia rings.
She waves goodbye,
And leaves me there,
Without a gentle thought
or care.

In her absence,
MY heart does yearn
For her long
awaited return,
But when she does,
It’s all too late-
The love has boiled
Into hate.
Her perfect hair,
A tangled mess.
Her frock a mottled,
Mangled dress.
Too tight around
The hips and chest-
Her childhood
Been put to rest.
No longer light;
Without a care,
For too much knowledge
Lingers there.
No more unbeknownst
To pain-
Her scarred and wrinkled skin
Once plain.
She smiles a tender,
Loving smile-
And toys with my heart
A while.
But her sweet appeal,
So long gone-
Her feeble innocence
Grown too strong.
Besides,
She left me all alone!
To dream and wonder
On my own.
A life of splendour,
She did live,
And now she wants
My heart to give?
I throw away
Her sweet request-
And tell her how
I do detest
Her leather hands
And kissed lips;
Her held and fondled,
Widened hips.
“What ever I do,
You’ll never be mine-
You’ve muddied waters,
Once divine!”
A justified rejection,
A bloody smash-
I discard of her heart,
With a thundering crash.
Butterflies and
Question marks
Fly from her fresh
Exploding heart.
The ghastly remorse-
Flows out in tears,
And violent sobbing
Fills my ears.
But now,
What is done is done.
So I get up
And start to run.
I leave her there,
To rot away,
Beneath the splendour
Of the sun.
