The cover is new,
its condition pristine
No signs of misuse mar its surface
Nothing to hint at
the pages inside
Only to find:
those pages,
battered and torn
bitter words,
filled with painful,
and secrets
Some hurridly put the book away
Those pages, those words
Are not what was expected
Some wanted the story the cover told,
Not what it held inside
Some will read the true story,
And learn what really lies on those pages,
in those words,
in that book
