The Gem of Hope?

Oh! How many more,
Suffer like me!?
How many more,
Drown in the sea?!
Of our own,
Hopeless, misery?!
Oh, I beg you!
Don't condemn!
Us to this quiet death!
We see the bright,
opaque gem,
We Touch it with,
Our breaths!
But, oh! Alas!
We cannot reach,
The hope, of a better day!
