Broken and Glued
I feel the pain inside;
Gritting my teeth, I push it aside.
I grin a smile so fake,
And, within, the pain sears with every step I take.
I will not give up,
But instead make it up.
The broken smile fades;
The tears come crashing down in waves.
All emotions become too clear,
And I truly fear.
But I will not let myself
Unleash this monster they’ve created themselves.
At least not until I am away
From those who will cause my judgment to sway.
So I hold it in,
And try to begin
My journey, alone,
Torn; but, outside, patched and sewn.
