This is America by design,
We are modern, cold, haunted,
The walking dead.
I am the phantom in the attic,
The lock and key.
Together we are visibly indivisible.
They say I have passion,
A dark lifestyle,
The hero of the universe.
But I know I'm just
A gloomy, ravage, man.
We are yet to see the brightest day
When I can answer the question,
What have I done?

I wrote this piece as a type of challenge for myself. I used the idea of found poetry. I walked the streets of Pittsburgh, PA going into various stores and shops writing down any words I saw that could help in writing a poem. Later that day, I sat down and unscrambled all the words written down in my notebook into poem form. And this is the result.
