Left behind

No one knows,
what to say.
The grievances have created a mangled
barrier
death reeks
a scent so strong,
no one can breathe.
Suffocating all those in its midst.
Rotting the souls of the living,
stealing away the sun.
A force so impossibly capable,
undefeatable.
Our words are broken,
useless
against the shadow of death,
creeping in
lost
alone
forced into solitude
by an invisible force field
into ones self,
a turtle retreated into its shell.
away, we are slipping
away.
confused, beyond pain.
numb.
We fall.

Wow great imagery and story telling. Good metaphors throughout the piece. Very powerful, I really liked it. I read it a few times over just to really get the feeling. It was really good, keep it up.
