Eyes awake
A jolt of energy
Pulses through
So alone
Yet someone’s there
Can’t move, can’t flinch
Can’t breathe, don’t scream…
Darkness fills the room
And seeps into my eyes
I’m shaking and can’t stop
Is everything still there?
Start with my toes
And move up to my face
Finally blink
And then I’m lost again
