Love Me For Me

I don’t have
An ipod,
A tablet,
Or nook

I don’t have
A my space,
A twitter,
Or Facebook.

I don’t
Wear short shorts,
Or giant hoop earrings,
Or have a bellybutton ring.

I don’t
Text my life away,
Or wear tons of makeup,
Or wear my hair in a poof.

I don’t need
All that stuff,
I love who I am
And you cannot change me

So if you don’t like me
The way that I am,
Then you’re at a loss,
You just don’t understand

That I don’t need
To be pretty,
Popular,
Or rich,

All I need is somebody
Who’ll love me for me
Not for who
They want me to be.

Really good message. I like that there are people like you who stand up to say it.

Great meaning to the poem. Loved it. Too many people think that stuff makes them better than other's and it's really annoying. Glad other people our age have the right state of mind too lol. Keep it up!
