Misfit
She wakes up late, and almost misses the bus
"But I made it," she thinks, "No reason to fuss"
Her locker gets stuck, but no one's around
"I better hurry," she says out loud
At lunch someone bumps into her and a tray goes flying
"It's okay, I'm fine" she says, but she's nearly crying
She works through a problem on the board during math
She can hear the snickering and name calling behind her back
Yet she keeps quiet and continues on
The last bell rings, and she's already gone
At night she cries into her pillow, but she knows in her heart
I will always be different; I have been from the start
