Desire
Why must everything be as it is so
To have caring people around me, they don't know
They say they love me as if it's nothing
It is said to make me feel something
I can't feel a thing within myself
For these words they leave themself
They are saying that they want my happiness
Yet to gain what I want will only bring sadness
Because if I get that which I desperately seek
Then the beast within will surpass my peak
To be truly happy in my own sights
Would have others in miserable plights
Most of my happiness revolves around me
In ways of love, lust, memory, and fantasy
For my dreams to come true in this life
Would only cause pain, grief, anger, and strife
The fearsome creature inside my mind
The unholy desire you may find
The heart of a man so misunderstood
And so I stand here afraid if I could
My desires would only bring painful tears
At night, with my wants, give people fears
The beast festers within and haunts my mirrors
