Confusion
drip. drop. drip. drop.
one fallen rain petal after another
drip. drop. drip. drop.
falling forever forward
It crashes, smashes, buries deep into the dirt
It piles on the sidewalks
covers the earth
drip. drop. drip. drop.
It stings the eyes
wets the skin
dripping, draining, dripping, draining
It never gives in
dripping, dropping, and an old man that enjoys snoring
it floats on the sand
stains with rust
speaks of nightmares
supposedly hurts us
drip. drop. drip. drop.
one rain petal following another
until all that remains
all that stands
is a muddy puddle
and a muddle
of thoughts.
