The Fight
The battle began
 Only 13 years ago
 Though your time
 Was not done,

 You fought on,
 Continued the trials
 That made you weak,
 But in the end
 You stayed strong,

 Still the cancer spread,
 No matter what we did
 There was no stopping it
 Then you said
 That when you left
 We would be okay,

That we would meet again someday,
If I could say one last thing,
Thank you would be the words,
 For all the years
 That you fought for us,
All the things you’ve taught us,
 And a piece of you

Lives on in all the memories,
For now we say a bitter good-bye
 That has been long awaited
But I know this isn’t the end,
 Today I hope you know
 Where out hearts lie,
 And that your legend
 Will never die
