Fools that Whisper
Feel a cold sweat
drip down my back
Feel the mean sickness
urge up again
contain it all inside
by just closing my eyes
Hears the words whispered by fools
Only be tared down
by the ones I say inside my head
Feel the needle pinch my skin
the plunger of dread
My knees give out, so weak that I am
But I still decide to rise up
for one last stand
Swept away by the currents of words
I challenge anyone else to speak first
in an attempt
to keep my knees from hitting dirt
I feel the darkness inside of me, it tries to lurch again
The exhaustion overtakes my mind
to knock my breath away
But still I fight back
to keep the evil at bay
To keep the thoughts from clouding my day
In order to stop it
from being grey
Maybe it's better off this way
