Running to You
I’ve been running
 I’ve been running
I’ve been running and the earth
 has been crumbling
 beneath me

 I’ve been running
 as it crumbles
and it causes me to stumble
 my weak knees are bleeding
 breath heavy and ceasing
 I’ve been running
 for so long now
 that my vision is dimming
 black is seeping in
 like temptation
 like voices,
in the back of my mind,
 whispering…
 but then,
there was light, was a voice
lifting me up off the ground
 and yes,
 yes, I’ve been running
afraid to put my trust in that light
and I’ve been running a race with
 questions that plague my mind
 because who am I?
who am I to be saved? To be loved?
 But
 You are the truth,
 the way ,
 the life,
I am His as He is mine
 and its
 mind boggling
 that I’m still running
vitality and strength from His love
 flows through my veins
 I am still running
 and while I run
I pour out my soul to You
 my trials becoming mercies
 and I’m still running
 now with my hand outstretched
 and His upward call echoing:
 Daughter,
 You are Home.
