I let myself fade into the distance
Watching your confused face turn into apathy.
The tides pulled us farther away
I didn't fight against it.
I let each wave drown me.
I ignored the hand that reached out.
I just wanted you to save yourself.
You surfaced the air before I could realize
I was suffocating.
It was too late.
And so-
I let the water pull me under.
You floated away
Farther and farther
Drifting apart with each wave
