Kids are screaming,
Their souls are leaving.
People are protesting,
Freedom is nearing.
In Homs, the know
God is with them,
For He has shown
An angel for them.
Hadi Al-Jundi,
I can’t believe your part of my family!
How about Al-Qashoosh?
My Hamwi, they hurt you without any RUTH!
What about Hamza Al-Khateeb?
A boy my age, killed without any ease.
Syrians are dying,
Their children are crying!
Parents are watching,
Their children leaving,
Not knowing if they will ever return,
For Bashar will never learn.
Syria wants to be free;
Just let it be!

I was inspired to write this poem by the brave Syrians fighting every day for something we might take so lightly; freedom. As a girl who's origins are from Hama and Homs, this poem is very dear to my heart.
