The trees
The death of the trees was the death of me
No one should ever see
The wound gaping inside me
The forest was always there
I would have always cared
But it all died with the trees
They tore them up, killed the trees
And with the trees, they killed me
My heart will always ache with loss
The falling of the trees was its cost
My wound is one time will never heal
I am wondering if it is real
The trees fell with unheard cries
All that I could do was cry
All the things that make me, me
They all died with the falling trees
