We are what we repeatedly do, Excellence therefore, is not an act, but a habit. - Aristotle

When I watch the rain
I feel a change
Deep inside myself

I understand
The child I was
Is lost unto this world

I’m startled by
The growth that hurts
Within my mind and soul
The childlike simplicity
Life had to offer ends
Adolescence takes its toll

Outside looks grim
The light is dim
Everything is gray
Beyond my door lies the ground as still as an earthquake

And with toll
I place my soul
Outside myself at last
Stand tall and graceful
Feel weak and vulnerable
Break the shattered glass

The past is gone
The time is now
To walk out on my own

I’m flushed
I stumble
I gain balance at last
I pull myself to my feet
I step into the drippy path.

The rain pours down
I am soaked
But the water cools my skin

Somehow I know
Deep inside
Life is ready to begin

I’ll find my way.

As the rain drops clear my path

I simply hope that people will be able to relate to my writing in there own personnel life. I prefer to not give a point blank explanations about my poetry because my main purpose is to inspire the imaginations of others.
