You block your dream when you allow your fear to grow bigger than your faith. ~Mary Manin Morrissey

The sun doesn't shine here anymore,
No, no it doesn't, not today.
You paint such a picture, with your fairy-tales and lore,
Of places you've been, things you've done,
That all seem so far away.

No, the sun doesn't shine here anymore,
It doesn't shine here, not since you went away,
For some time now, living under clouds,
I should be fine now, but it still hasn't rained.

The sun doesn't shine here anymore,
Today, we're just hoping for rain,
Something to cleanse, something to ease, to pour,
On our skin to take away the dirt, the mud, the pain.

The sun doesn't shine here anymore,
Clear skies here no longer,
We long for thee, no, not like before,
Changed, we've been, from all the time,
We were left to pace and ponder.

"No, it doesn't shine anymore,"
We say to your accusing eyes,
Looking at you, not decided upon what to say,
Magnificent to us at one time, to us it's as if you told a lie.
A lie of the places you've been, the things so far away,
You told us we'd come there too, with you, one day.

No, the sun doesn't shine here anymore,
It doesn't shine today, not even for you,
Not even for you, or your return.
We look in your eyes, and we see pain.
The sun does not shine today,
But today, today we hope it might rain.
