I'm in a box
Constantly surrounded
Yet closed in
To what I a made to think

Taped, stamped
Cut open
Moved around,
But forced to be the same

I'm in a box
Everywhere I go
Longing to free
My blue cold heart

Fed to,
Financed
Brainwashed inside
I long,
Long to be liberated

I'm in a box
No way to go out
Constantly told
What I should not do
Yet never told
What I can do

Opening my flaps
Blinded by society
Wanting to go back
Longing,
Longing to be liberated
Yet made to think
I should go back in

The author's comments:
In the society we live in today, everyone is metaphorically in a box due to a lack in honest self expression. Kids and teenagers are put on an invisible leash by their parents and are not being allowed to think for themselves. Everywhere people go, they are in a box; a house, a building, a school, at work, and never allowed to just be their own person.

I totally agree with this poem. It's true that we are forced to be packed into boxes of conformity in society. I like it a lot and it really speaks to me. :)
