I was left standing on the corner of Broadway street, my friend who was my lover left me holding her underwear,remnants and stenches of a love crime committed against others who were not me, deceit and repulsion fill my nose as I inhale and so I wish instead for cigarette smoke; which will leave me sick but not dead, though current conditions lead me to desire both


The author's comments:
I was standing outside my hotel room watching this girl waiting on the corner for a bus I think, with such a pained forlorn expression on her face, that it wrenched my heart and when my heart is wrenched my thoughts turn to my own unattainable love of my life
