Cigarette flick, I'm down to the ice floor,
Been lingering with a dripping tension
Wading through water, hide it in your night drawer
Who is this boy you forgot to mention

Am I
Your savior
Am I
A friend

I need
To savor
The kisses
You regret

Palm against tree, resting gently
Unlike the lips of your restless lover
Though forest wants to hide you, I see clearly
You gave me what you meant for another

I bleed
In anger
I fret
Like a fool

Wine stains
Hidden by the river
The snow outlines
Where he met you

Now you know my temper
The miles you make cannot save you
I will always keep and treasure
The lessons that you forged for me

Poison tongue and red ink lip kiss
Feeling, needing your - empty run
Treading lightly, nervous, listless
Craving sets into hungry palms

Drink now
My charm and
Stay by the
River

Your heart
Is useless
Because what I want
Is a stranger

Knocking, calling, answer to darling
Abandoned plans and late night thieving
Our love is built from red brick
And that brick laid on mud

Our secret
Bones are shaking
Bound by fury
Addicted love

On our knees
And pray we don't wake them
Catching on to your
Fever touch

Now he dreams of my own nightmares
Bullet to the chest, kept tight to the vest
Crystal eyes and a deep set grey stare
Burn the bridge so there's no way left

Knocking, calling, insides brawling,
Palm against tree, knuckled wall tear
Cigarette flick, dirt rock lung air
My poisoned tongue in a heavy new world.
