Be Careful What You Wish For
Once upon a time,
there was a creature whose name
was Insolitous
He's the bare manifestation of a child's desire
to never be forgotten.
As a child weeps softly and sorrowfully in the night,
with no one to calm their boisterous soul,
he appears.
His voice, like angels in the choir
His odor, like unsoiled linen,
But this creature is just that
A plethora of eyes, staring condescendingly,
malformed ears that correlate between a rabbit and a teddy bear,
a pipe that seems like a middle-aged father's
and a book with a children's illustration on the cover
He'll sit in a chair
and read, read, read!
Until the child falls asleep
and never wakes up.
He did his job.
The misery is gone.
