The Soul of a Dragon

My soul is of dragon
I can be held back by no one
I am mighty I am strong
I have been waiting to be unleashed far too long
My scales are hidden
For making them visible is forbidden 
I try and spread my wings
But I have been held back by so many things
I try to be let out
But I get held back by doubt
I struggle to be free 
But my true self is under lock and key
I am not of man but of beast
I am not your threat in the least
But a mortal's fears 
Could get me greeted with spears
But when its night
I can be outta sight
I can fly 
Into the dark sky
For my scales are black
No one can hold me back
I can soar
For I am not stuck walking the earth anymore
Inside my core is a burning fire
For my immortal soul will never tire
Like a phoenix I have flown from my old ashes
And my old life before me flashes
Someday I will be existent again
Long before my inner self comes out of it's den
