I see the world beyond
I am your portal gate;
I will guide your curiosity forward –
Your hesitant nature shall negate.
Lean on me for support,
For courage before you go;
But when you return, please take pity
And tell me all you’ve come to know

I found a quote that said, "Never write anything from the perspective of a doorhandle" and my immediate thought was, "Challenge accepted."

Thank you very much. I'm glad you liked it :)
And I'll see what I can do about possibly adding another stanza - it could work out. Thanks!

Write. It doesn't matter if you're overjoyed, furious, miserable, or what. Write to keep those emotions in check while managing to grow stronger.

Very creative idea. The only criticism that I have is that I feel this poem could have been a little longer. I only dabble in poetry every now and again, so I don't know proper poetry etiquette. I just feel that you could have added a stanza or two. Other than that, I thought it was very creative and well written. Good job :)
