Senses
The blue floral wallpaper,
The pink fringed rug.
The smell of brewing coffee,
The scent of cinnamon buns baking.
The sound of grandpa snoring,
The static of the TV left on.
The feeling of freshly washed sheets,
The warm sensation of a hot shower.
The taste of a melting peppermint,
The numbness of a mouthful of snow.
The black clothing,
The casket covered in flowers.
The smell of salty tears,
The scent of musky sweaters.
The sound of quiet sobs and sniffles,
Silence.
The touches of sympathy,
The feeling of damp tissues.
The taste of sorrow,
The taste of regret.
Senses will fade,
so will we.
But memories stick to us,
so closely.
