SHINE
Life is like a flame
Delicate but deadly
It flickers in tune with a broken heart beat
I know what it’s like to feel pain
My childhood was damaged
Not many happy memories
But the fire inside me still jumps
Thinking it’s on my mom’s trampoline
That’s one time I do miss
But we can’t go back
Forward is the only way life moves
Grow with every breath
Breathe in tune with the flicker of life inside you
The fire will grow stronger
It is a torch that will lead you
And bring light to dark situations
Shine for today, tomorrow, and beyond
Life is like a flame
Not meant for hate though sometimes it’s pushed there
Giving to others their third degree burns
I have my scars
There’s no reason to burn one another
But bring warmth with your love
And you will see
Just how great we all can shine
