A is for after I found out
L is for the loneliness that crept in
O is for only if I knew, could I have stopped it?
N is for never going back.
E is for everything you confided in me was a lie.
I is for I was stupid?
S is for how it started out slow, the pain
P is for purpose, what was it?
A is for the aftermath, he’s rotting in a cell and I have no father
I is for his Ignorance,
N is for Now, [me holding a phone to my ear staring at the stranger across the see-through glass]
“Hi, Dad.”
