Red, luscious, illuminated with life,
Petals dripping with fragrance,
Thorns sharp and beautiful,
A red rose of repose,
Recalcitrance,
Remorse

Red fades to purple,
Your petals are wilting and heavy with death,
Your fragrance rotten, filled with decay.
Sweet has turned to sour,
Stem to slime,
Life to death.
A red rose dying,
Decaying,
Doomed
