The Light of God

Blasting, burning light
Burst into the bleakness of this little girl’s life
The darkness cowered away in fear
And there it stood in all its glory
The Light of God

The Light found the girl at her worst
There, pooling around her feet the rivers of hate and fear
All consuming rage and despair choking the last bit of breath out of her
And there stood in all its glory
The Light of God

The existence of a deity itself was questionable at best for her
Yet, standing there, was one of superabundant love
It was unbelievable
And there stood in all its glory
The Light of God

The strongholds that chained the girl’s neck, wrists and ankles
Combusted into infinitesimal flecks of dust
All by the light, the light that was, is and will forever be
The Light of God
