Lying in Wait For Life
Help me see into the light
Of day, out of the dark of night
Comes new beginnings, cleaning the slates
For the next big show, what's to remain
We will never know, for we keep
Moving on a faster track, speeding
Time getting shorter down the
Runway don't slow down now
Or everything will fall to pieces
Of shattered hearts and dreams will lie
On the floor for eternity the hopes of all
We've fought for swept under the
Covers of books don't hold a
Candle flickering against the winds of
Change is coming, will we feel it on the
Air whispering of the futures and plans of
Tomorrow brings a freshness to the same boring
Routines broken within a blink as childhood slips between our
Fingers caress the photograph of the girl I used to
Know that nothing lasts
Forever is too long to
Wait for the moment when it all works
Out of the darkness comes a new
Light your own path, make your own
Trek up the mountain, reach the top and
Scream out the story of your
Life is waiting, life is listening to
You only have to be willing to share the tale.
