The white flakes swirl above me
Touching my tongue as I gaze into the limitless supply
Hands outstretched, the sweltering cold eats at my bare face
The wonder from the sky is dazzling
White snow against the black night
An explosion of sugar
Tears of frozen water streak my face
The snow is at home

Roads caked in frozen sleet
Hot cocoa and electric blankets are our best friends
School is cancelled
Snowmen smile, sleds slide
Children impatiently wait for that oh so famous sleigh
The snow is at home

Beautiful flakes steal my eyes
All unique, never the same
I am drawn to my window, accompanied by a book
Never getting past the first page
The waterfall is captivating
The snow is at home

This was a spur of the moment poem. I wrote it with the first snowfall of the year, and this is exactly how I felt!
