if i ate a poem
my stomach would grow and grow
until an explosion of colors and music
then the world would shudder abit
all the light would leave
if i ate a poem
i would commit such a crime
to eat some else's dreams
never to be seen again
the world would grow dark and gloomy
our lives would be sad and gray
the guilt could kill
if i ate a poem

my English teacher helped by giving me a prompt. at first it was difficult to think through but eventually i came up with this
