I was only five
Still unsure if I was really alive
You told me to respect mom and dad
I didn’t know why then, but it made me so mad
Every few days you’d teach me a life lesson
I never really listened, so here’s my confession
Regret is like a killer, haunts and consumes you
I hope this apology helps me to get through
I’m sorry for not understanding all the things you wanted me to know
But I really wish you were to watch me as I grow.
