The church bell tolls but whom for?
The church lies empty with pulpit bare
The hymnals lie fallen and pages tore
The organ once played has better faired

Yet the church bell tolls what's that a plead
That this place of God may once still shine
All it yet needs is scriptures heed
With a bended knee at an altar of pine

The church bell tolls its final time
And yet no one pays it any mind
We drink we party and we play
For we know that it will ring another day.
But the time has past and now is gone
What is eternal has been pass on
