Oh how this year flew
Nine months nearly passed
Another year done
Another year survived

Handling the stress
Balancing
Homework and friends
Trying to hold on to a life

Now we made it
Well, almost
Not quite
Just three more days

Three more days of school
You think
It will go fast
But no, it’s only Friday

There is Saturday
And Sunday
Two extra days
Before Monday

I don’t want to wait
Another two days
Just for three
To become two more

On Friday, June 1st, I remember thinking, "Yes, we get out on Wednesday, June 6. So after today, there are just three more school days left. Yes, SCHOOL days. But for that number to officially become three, I have to wait an extra two, this weekend, Saturday and Sunday. I really wish I could just skip to next week so it would already officially be, the final three days."
