High School in a Nutshell
Sleepy eyes, strained brain
Being in AP causes pain
Arms weakened by heavy books
Appearance criticized by probing looks
Sweatshirt, sweatpants, hair in a tail
Dragged into school, or sure to fail
Want to spend time on looking nice
But after all-nighters, looks are sacrificed
Throbbing headache, getting harder to see
I hope that essay was at least a B
When I get home, I’ll be able to sleep away
No, says teacher, here’s another essay
About to burst, about to fall
Does any of this really matter at all?
At least you’re lucky to get an education
At least you don’t live in a third-world nation
So you suck it up, and take it in
It won’t be long before college begins
