Lime Green

The peel of the lime shimmers
with freshly placed water droplets.
I slowly peel the fruit,
the tangy scent floating in the air.
I squeeze the lime over a clear glass
of icy cold water.
The juice slides down the outside
of the cup, sloshing onto the cold counter top.
I take a sip of the green-tinted water,
my face scrunching up at the flavor.
