Persecution in Spain

Converted to a different faith
Forced to believe
A death sentence looming ahead
Waiting for suspicious behavior
Maybe not even a wrong action
Just a false accusation

Being watched
Monitored closely by all around
People not trusting
They shift their gazes but make no sound

Standing by, witnessing the death of an innocent
Has an "act of faith" gone too far when many die for no reason?
Confess, admit, own up to something you never did
And then and only then would a heretic be granted
More time to live, time to hang onto your position
Stand up, watch with pride, this is the Spanish Inquisition
