Writing is a round of golf
With its easy and hard parts
Driving the ball is like using strong words
They are both easy to do
Hitting those bump and run chips

That is like making your words flow

Or hitting high irons into the green
That is as easy as using strong adjectives
But, they both have some difficulties
As in,
Hitting long fairway bunker shots
That is like proper grammar
They are both very difficult to do
Or hitting the low punch shot below a tree
That is using appositives
I both hate them
Golf and writing
Have their easies and hards
But you know,
You will have to do it someday.
