Disappointment
Anger
Rage
I know how this ends
The Look says a hundred words
takes a thousand hits

not only my spirits
my bones
my heart

Oh, what a man you are
how cool you look
leaving scars
making me bleed
all the dreams you took
degrading what you value most
the person you'll spend forever with
telling me
"I'm teaching you a thing or two!"
what you taught me was how to hate

Its only a matter of time
before
I can't take it anymore

I STAND...

The author's comments:
When I wrote this free-verse, my mind was closed in on the universal problem of domestic abuse. Its a growing threat to humanity and could cause a lot of problems in the future. People need to be more aware of this problem.
