Friends
The fragrant house smells
Of freshly cut grass
And clean linen
We settle in
Then settle down.
Relaxing in sweats
No makeup
No worries
Enjoying each others company
No inhibitions
Just Friends.
Midday comes
Outside we go
The dry grass crunches
Beneath our feet
As we make our way to the dock
The clear, warm water
Sloshing
Tickling our toes
The bright sun kisses our skin
Basking in the brilliant blue sky
As clouds float along effortlessly
We laugh
And gossip
And sing
Later
We come back
When night falls
Lounging on the dock
Dipping our toes
Into the icy lake
Sitting
Gazing at the beaming
Stars above
Perfectly comfortable
Belonging
Knowing
Accepting
Each other
As Friends.
