I Am the Smile Whisperer

i am the smile whisperer
well-versed in a language of
gap-toothed grins
mega-watt molars
and lipstick-stained pouts
i am the smile whisperer
able to decode smirks
like a DNA sequence
and known to judge people
on their sincerity
by the speed at which
they flash their incisors.
i am the smile whisperer
my talents are visual, not visceral
and the translations i make are purely inferential
you, my friend,
are hieroglyphics
that cannot be deciphered.
