Elegy

My fist pounds my head,
A strain to remember
But the train’s left the station

That elusive thought
Mind stretching,
A fight to remember
Tip of my tongue
I’ll bet it was a great one,
Positively earth shattering
But now it’s gone,
Elastic stretched and limp.
