Summer
All the kids are excited for summer
I don't know why, it's always a bummer
While they get to go out with friends and play
I stay indoors, many hours a day
They laugh as they soak up the sun
I stay here until the work is done
They buy more popsicles than they need
I sit to write and to read
They sit around, love to talk and to laugh
I sit around doing science and math
The girls go shopping, looking for a sale
I stare at the wall, feeling like I'm in jail
The boys play sports, around they run
All I want to do is have a little fun
All the kids are excited for summer
I don't know why, it's always a bummer
As they stay cool, playing in the pool,
I'm stuck here in summer school
