Weight Loss
The day before an important match,
I check my weight to see where I am at.
 I wince at the sight,
Of the 4 red digits that appear,
 131.4.
 I begin to panic,
 I am 5.4 pounds over,
 What will I do?
 I pull out the sweats,
 I unroll the plastics,
Its going to be a long practice.
 After practice,
 I check the scale,
 Still 1.8 over.
 The next day at school,
 I sit and wait,
 For weigh-ins.
 My body is starving,
 Its thirsty and weak.
 I can barely function,
 Time goes by slowly,
I can feel my heart beating as I sit in class.
 I’m tired,
All I want to do is sleep.
This is what I deal with,
 For my sport.
